Transfer Credits
Transfer Credits
No more than 75 credits may be transferred from two-year institutions, and a maximum of 90 credits total from any combination of two and four-year institutions. If a student has attended a four-year college prior to completing an associate’s degree, the previous work is considered part of the associate’s degree and the aforementioned credit limitations apply.
Credit for courses taken at other colleges may be transferred if the course is comparable in level and content to Maritime College offerings, is appropriate to the curriculum pursued at Maritime, and if a grade of at least “C” was earned. Credit for transfer applicants is made on a course-by-course basis by the chair of the major department selected by the applicant and the Associate Provost.
Official evaluation of transfer credits is made upon receipt of a final official transcript, the student’s statement of intention and deposit, and a catalog which includes the course description. Entering students must make certain these documents are sent to the Admissions Office.
