On behalf of SUNY Maritime Alumni Relations I would like to congratulate the Class of 2009 on reaching this milestone in your life.
You are educated by every experience you live, every interest you pursue, every book you read, and every person you meet. You learn from your parents, friends, teachers, co-workers, classmates, teammates, and coaches. You have fulfilled a quantifiable set of requirements. Our most important lessons cannot be recited or written down and turned in for a grade. These lessons involve friendship, hard work, and dedication. There are three critical senses: a sense of direction, a sense of humor, and a sense of curiosity; Use these on every occasion you can for an expediential amount of personal growth.
