College Handbook

A Letter from the President

Welcome!
I hope that you will find the SUNY Maritime College Handbook to be a valuable resource. Special thanks goes to Dr. William Massano, Faculty Policies Committee Chair, for all of his good work in updating the Faculty Handbook and the College Handbook. The entire SUNY Maritime nation takes great pride in the accomplishments of our faculty and of the work that you do in educating our students.
I encourage you to read the document and become familiar with the College’s Strategic Plan, our academic policies, departmental policies, the Mission/Vision and Statement of SUNY Maritime College.
Please note that the policies in the SUNY Maritime College Handbook are those that are currently in force. Although it was not possible to cover every issue that may arise, great care has been taken to be as comprehensive as possible.
Your commitment to the students as well as to our alumni and to well being of SUNY Maritime College is vital to the success of our strategic mission. I thank you for your dedication. I look forward to working closely with you.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rear Admiral Wendi B. Carpenter, USN (Ret.)
President, SUNY Maritime College
