Indoctrination Graduation 2016

Indoctrination Graduation 2016

At 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, several hundred new students will graduate from SUNY Maritime’s indoctrination program. They will march onto the athletic field and be recognized by Rear Adm. Michael Alfultis, president of the college, in front of their families and friends.

The ceremony is the culmination of the 10-day indoc program, designed to begin to teach the mariners under guidance, or MUGs, the history, traditions and discipline that being a member of the college’s regiment of cadets required.

At the end of the ceremony, they will be part of the student body and able to call themselves cadets.
