Congratulations and Welcome to Maritime College!

Summer Orientation 2012!


We know the years ahead will present you with excitement, challenges, and memories to last a lifetime. As you prepare to begin your college career, or continue it with us at Maritime, you may find yourself wondering what this Orientation program means to you. Our Orientation program is designed to provide all new students and their families with a warm welcome to the College and a solid foundation for academic and personal development. We are here to support you as well as supply the information and resources available to you to make your experience here Maritime as successful as possible.


Session Preference

The information below must be completed by all incoming First Year and Transfer students and can be found in your New Student Packet. Space is limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration must be received by June 1, 2012. The sessions have traditionally filled up quickly so please respond as soon as possible to receive your preferred session.


Session 1: June 26th

Session 2: June 28th

Session 3: July 9th

Session 4: July 11th

Session 5: August 10th (Transfer Students or students who  live 180+ miles from campus)



You will receive a confirmation via email.


Parent & Family Track
At each orientation, there will be an optional parent and family track. It is designed to acquaint parents and families with the expectations placed on students. It will include lunch, an overview of campus life, academics, registration and finances. Attending the track will also give parents and families an opportunity to meet with faculty and administrators who will be here to support, mentor and motivate their student at Maritime. (Due to space constraints, we invite only ONE parent or family member for this optional track)


Payment Information:
Orientation is a flat charge of $150. Your account will automatically be billed.

ORIENTATION FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE

Should my parents  or family members come to Orientation?

    At Orientation, you will have the opportunity to:

     

    • Meet with Faculty and academic advisors
    • Get acquainted with Maritime’s campus life including student activities, athletics, student government and student clubs and organizations through sessions and activities
    • Socialize with upperclassmen and new students
    • Learn about Fort Schuyler and Maritime traditions
    • Get your Maritime College ID Card
    • Explore the campus
    • Learn about the many resources designed to help you succeed
    • Get answers to all of your questions about being a Maritime student
