A force of 7 University Police Officers and 5 Security Officers are assigned to the Maritime College. They conduct foot and vehicular patrols on the campus and residence hall areas 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Almost 600 State University Police Officers are assigned to 28 SUNY Colleges statewide.

The mission of the State University Police Department at the SUNY Maritime College is to ensure a safe and secure environment on the college campus, in which the faculty, staff, students and visitors can pursue and achieve the College’s academic and leadership objectives without concern for their personal safety or the safety of their or the college’s property This objective is pursued through enforcement of the State University Rules and Regulations and all local, state and federal laws.
