Maritime Student Life

SUNY Maritime College is leadership both in and out of the classroom. Whether a civilian student or a member of The Regiment of Cadets, you'll be part of a challenging environment that focuses on learning, discipline, development, and leadership

Over 90% of the students live on campus which creates a vibrant and active learning community. The area of Student Programs provides support for those students through services and activities. Also within the environment are over 30 student clubs as well as Maritime Student Government who enhance the campus experience for all students.

Academic and social support is provided by the area of Student Development & Retention. Whether you need tutoring, mentoring or just academic guidance the staff is always available to assist you. Success is our number one goal for each and every student and providing the tools and supported needed is vital for today’s student.

Health Services is also ready to serve all the mental and physical needs our student body. With state-of-the-art facilities our medical and clinical staff performs a myriad of functions as well as referrals to other professional facilities that we have developed close relationships with throughout the years.

College life is much more than lectures, tests, books, and studying. It is also about meeting diverse people, experiencing new and exciting things, developing your personal skills, enhancing your interests or finding new ones, but most of all it is about having fun. Take advantage of what we have to offer, whether it is a leadership retreat, joining an organization, attending a concert or play, or participating within the regiment. Getting involved will benefit you in and out of the classroom and will give you memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.

 GET INVOLVED!

“The average person puts only 25 percent of his energy and ability into his work. The world takes off its hat to those who put in more than 50 percent of their capacity, and stands on its head for those few and far between soul who devote 100 percent.”
