In The Bus to the Moon And Other Stories, a sweeping collection of 14 stimulating and dreamy short stories, Louis Phillips, the renowned poet and author of drama, fiction and children’s literature, takes the reader for a wild ride full of surprises, humor and stunning beauty.
This latest literary masterpiece by Mr. Phillips is an exploration of everyday life in modern America. The characters, which might as well be you or the friend around the corner, are captured in ordinary events, from baseball, movies, dreams and stikes, to magic, the Lindbergh kidnapping, classrooms and death, to encyclopedias and newspapers.
The tales are chock-full of Mr. Phillip’s unique perceptions on human motivation, interaction, memory and metamorphosis. Mixing hotdogs with epiphanies, Metropolis with labor disputes, and Ted Williams with transcendence, Mr. Phillips takes us on a journey into the uncanny heart of America.
