| Placing Materials on Course Reserves |

Faculty may place materials on course reserve in order to make supplementary course materials available for students. These materials include, but are not limited to, books, book chapters, class notes, lecture outlines, sample exams, periodical articles, case studies, CFRs, Pubs, and multimedia materials.
- Course reserve materials are for IN LIBRARY USE ONLY and can be borrowed for a loan period of 4 hours
- Course reserve materials can be requested at the Circulation Desk by your last name and course number
- All course reserve materials will be removed at the end of the semester unless requested otherwise by the faculty member

What materials may be placed on course reserves?
- Materials owned by Luce Library
- Professors' personal copies of books, multimedia sources, and photocopies of articles, book chapters, practice tests, class notes, etc.

What is the procedure for placing materials on course reserve?
- Complete and print a Faculty Reserve Request form online (or pick-up print copies at Circulation Desk) and submit with materials to be placed on reserve at the Circulation Desk.
- Allow 2-3 working days for materials to be placed on reserve

How do I find out what I have on course reserve?
All course reserve materials are searchable through the Sextant, the Library’s online catalog. Click here to go to the Sextant’s Course Reserve search screen
- Select course reserve, if not already there
- Search for your course reserve materials by your name, course name, department, course number, title or author

What are copyright guidelines governing materials placed on course reserves?
- The Library follows U.S. Copyright laws and guidelines governing materials placed on reserve. Click here for information on the U.S. Code on Fair Use
- U.S. Government Documents may be exempted from copyright protection
