Marifiles Vertical File Collection - The Library maintains a computer-indexed collection of maritime-related information. They are located in Bay 2 of the Reading Room. If you wish access to these collections, please see the Reference Librarian. Click here to view a list of all Marifiles.

Technical Reports - approximately 4,000 recent maritime-oriented research reports in paper and microfiche format, with emphasis on research cited in Government Reports Announcements (GRA) and the NTIS Selected Research in Microfiche (SRIM).

Maritime History - a collection of classic texts on nautical education and historical treatises on marine engineering, marine transportation, maritime labor, the merchant marine and naval architecture. Including a reprint edition of Lloyd's Register, 1764-1900.

The Ship's Library - a selective collection of some 2,500 cataloged volumes, supports the college's Summer Sea Term academic program during the annual training cruise of the T.S.EMPIRE STATE VI. A librarian is on board to provide service to students, officers and staff seven days a week when the ship is under way.

Robert W. Gove Memorial Collection of Professional Literature - established in memory of R.W. Gove '78, who was lost at sea in the SS POET in October 1980. This circulating collection features over 400 books which stimulate a love of the sea and foster a better understanding of the seagoing profession and life at sea.
