Academic and Administrative Leadership
The President’s Cabinet is composed of 10 senior academic and administrative leaders who are responsible for advising the president on institutional decision making across the college. They help to develop, implement and oversee college operations and strategic direction.
Ms. Aimee Bernstein, Esq.
Vice President for University Relations
Aimee L. Bernstein has 20 years of senior-level administrative experience at leading institutions of higher education including New York University and The State University of New York. In her current position as vice president for University Relations, she has oversight of efforts relating to development, alumni affairs, government relations, communications and career services. In her previous position as associate vice chancellor at The State University of New York, Bernstein worked closely with the system chancellor and board of trustees in the areas of executive leadership, executive recruitment and evaluations, communication strategies, and oversight of university-wide programs.
Mr. Scott Dieterich
Vice President for Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer
Scott Dieterich is the Vice President for Finance and Administration, and Chief Financial Officer. His primary duties include financial and capital investment planning, management of campus operations and information technology strategy. Dieterich has more than 20 years of business technology and executive management experience focusing on process efficiency and the development of software applications supporting all aspects of business operations, finance and asset management.
Mr. Rohan Howell
Director of Admissions
Rohan Howell is the dean of Admissions. In that role, he is responsible for leading the college’s efforts to recruit and enroll the students who will succeed and enjoy the experiences SUNY Maritime has to offer. He and his staff are responsible for undergraduate, graduate, transfer and international student admissions. He returned to SUNY in 2016 after spending three years as director of undergraduate admissions at William Paterson University. Howell previously worked in admissions offices at SUNY Orange, Montclair State University, SUNY Stony Brook and Dowling College.
Dr. Joseph Hoffman
Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost
Dr. Hoffman has worked at SUNY Maritime since 1977, serving as a mathematics and computer science professor and was named a distinguished teaching professor in 2001. He also served as the college’s Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs from 2006 to 2012.

Ms. Lori Kie
Director of Communications
Lori Kie is the communications director, responsible for college-wide marketing, publications, traditional media outreach, social media and branding. She has been at SUNY Maritime since 2015. A native New Yorker, Kie was the news director at Tennessee Tech University, where she led a team responsible for university brand development, including producing award-winning photography, online content, and marketing and alumni

Mr. Kristofer Schnatz ‘99
Director of Athletics
Kristofer Schnatz oversees the entire department of athletics, intramural and club sports, including 16 varsity programs and three club programs, competing at the NCAA Division III level in the Skyline Conference, Eastern Collegiate Football Conference, Intercollegiate Sailing Association and USA Rowing. Schnatz has a bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation from Maritime and served on the college’s assistant basketball coaching staff from 2012-2016. He returned to Maritime from Indiana University Northwest, where he served as the executive director of Athletics from 2012 to 2016 and as its head basketball coach and, from 2014 to 2016, as its director of the health, physical education and recreation department.

Capt. Mark Woolley
Chief of Staff, Director of Institutional Research and Assessment
Retired U.S. Navy Capt. Mark J. Woolley has been SUNY Maritime’s chief of staff and director for Institutional Research and Assessment since 2012. A New York native, Woolley previously served 30 years in the Navy, assigned to ships in the Atlantic and Pacific fleets and commander of a destroyer. He received the Defense Superior Service Medal, two Legion of Merit Medals, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Navy Commendation Medals and the Navy Achievement Medal. After his service in the Navy, he became the North American vice president for business development at VSTEP, a simulation company.
