Explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with SUNY Maritime faculty, staff and students at our week-long, hands-on camp.

  • Engineering design

  • Coding

  • Chemistry

  • 3D Printing

  • Navigation and experiences in immersive ship's bridge simulators

  • Physics of ship

  • Waterfront activities, including kayaking, paddle boarding and a cardboard boat race

Students will learn and participate in our hands-on STEM activities in the campus science and computer labs; ship engine and bridge simulators; and the campus pool and waterfront facilities.

Dates and Times

Sunday, July 29, through Friday, August 3

Students should arrive on campus no later than 1 p.m. Sunday, July 29. The program will end around 1 p.m. Friday, August 3. 

On August 3, students will present their capstone projects to the rest of the camp. Parents and other guests are invited to attend.

Extracurricular activities

  • Fun on the campus waterfront, including sailing, kayaking and paddle boating 

  • Trips in New York City

  • Weather permitting, powerboat trip to City Island

  • Build and race cardboard boats with a team on the campus East River basin

Tuition

$150 

Tuition includes all meals, housing and camp activities. Students may choose to bring additional discretionary money for snacks or to spend during field trips.

Who can attend

The camp has a limited number of spaces for rising juniors and seniors from

  • Maritime-themed high schools

  • Local schools in and around the Bronx

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
