Circulating Books
 
Alumni
Alumni can register as "Friend of the Library" for an annual membership fee of $50. Alumni library borrowers are entitled to all basic reference services, including the in-house use of ready reference, reserve and special collection items, and may borrow a maximum of two (2) books from the regular circulating collection for a loan period of five weeks. Renewals, and fine policies are the same as those applied to Undergraduate/Graduate Students.
 
Special Collections

Special collections are kept in separate locations, but will be made available to you upon request at Circulation Desk. Loan periods for circulating special collection items are shorter ranging from Library use only to 2 weeks.

  • ***(History Collection) Books - Library use only
  • CC (Controlled Circulation) Books - Range varies from 2 days to 2 weeks as indicated on book pocket.
  • Theses - 2 weeks
  • Government Documents - 2 weeks
  • Technical Reports - 2 weeks
  • Feature Films (VHS) - 2 days
  • Instructional Films (VHS) - 2 weeks
  • Audio-Tape cassettes (ATC)- 2 weeks
Special collection books may be renewed up to two (2) times if not in demand.
 
Overdue Fines and Replacement Costs
A fine of $.20 per item, per day will be strictly enforced with a maximum $10 per item. Delinquent Student borrowers will be reported to the Registrar and their records, e.g., grade, diploma, transcripts, and others will be held until the books are returned and fines paid.  Any situation not resolved locally for any borrowers will be referred to the New York State Attorney General's office for legal action.

Borrowers are required to pay the cost of replacing lost or damaged items, and fines, if any, plus an administrative processing fee of 50% of the item, or $25.00, whichever is less. If the lost item is found within 6 months of the date of transaction a refund will be made.
