10.1 An Introduction to Stephen B. Luce Library Services
The library's extensive circulation, reference and periodical collections focus on marine engineering, naval architecture, marine transportation, oceanography, transportation economics and management, and meteorology. In addition to the print and microform resources, we subscribe to a variety of full-text online databases accessible via the Internet.

Luce staff member assists a patronHighly qualified librarians and support staff are glad to help students, faculty, alumni and guest researchers to navigate through research and make the most of these resources. Reference librarians assist patrons them in using the library and discovering the library's resources, including books, periodicals and media. The Interlibrary loan depertment will help users to locate items that the Luce Library doesn’t own. Circulation staff help you to check out materials. There are, of course, other library staff who work “behind the scenes” -- acquiring new materials and repairing old materials, virtually and physically labelling materials so that that they can be found in the catalog and on the shelf.

Please take a moment to meet our staff, "virtually" or in person. In either case, please do not hesitate to ask for help, we are here to provide the services that assist you in your scholarly pursuits.
