STCW Requirements

A mariner who successfully completes the course will satisfy the continued competency requirements for Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting in STCW Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(d) and 46 CFR 12.602(d), provided that they have at least 1 year of sea service in the last 5years.

Prerequisites:

• Basic safety training within five years while in possession of a valid merchant mariner credential

• One year of sea service within the last five years

• English proficiency

This is a two-day course.
