THROGGS NECK, NY – Nick Spista (White Plains, NY) of the Maritime College men's lacrosse team has been chosen as a Scholar All-American by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). He becomes the first Privateer to receive this honor since Kieran Hendry in 2024.
Spista was named Second Team All-Skyline as a short-stick midfielder after helping Maritime win the Skyline Conference championship and make its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2022. It was his second straight All-Skyline selection, having earned a spot on the First Team in 2025. This season, Spista played in 18 games and collected 25 ground balls while adding out a pair of assists.
Only seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and were honored as either an All-American or all-conference performer or participated in the North/South all-star game are eligible to be selected as Scholar All-Americans. Honorees must be nominated by their head coach and also must "have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field."
