SUNY Maritime College prides itself on being a transfer-friendly institution. Our faculty and staff work hard to make the transition from another college to SUNY Maritime as smooth and seamless as possible.

The college assures all transfer students the best possible application of their transfer credits to the degree requirements at Maritime College  to facilitate degree completion in a timely manner.

Please note that you must have earned a grade of "C" or above in college-level Calculus if you are applying for any of our Engineering programs. Completed applications for Transfer Admission are reviewed on an ongoing basis and applicants are notified once a decision has been made.

For all other majors, you must have completed college-level Pre-Calculus at a minimum, earning a grade of "C" or above.

Articulation

Transfer most often takes place without articulation, with credits being awarded on a course-to-course basis. However, to further enhance the transfer process, Maritime College has formalized transfer relationships with many community colleges in the form of dual admissions agreements, articulation agreements, or general transfer agreements. A dual admissions agreement will allow a student to simultaneously enroll in the two-year college and SUNY Maritime. An articulation agreement matches coursework between a community college and SUNY Maritime College. A general transfer agreement outlines the transfer policies endorsed by both institutions.
