Fast Track Program

Students in the fast-track program pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees at the same time. Students usually finish their graduate program one year after earning their bachelor's degree.

Who is eligible to apply?

All students are eligible, provided they have:

  • taken at least 90 credit hours

  • at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA

How do students apply?

Students interested in the International Transportation Management master's program should contact Dr. Cornelia McCarthy, Graduate Program Coordinator, at cmccarthy@sunymaritime.edu.

Students interested in the master's in Maritime and Naval Studies should contact Dr. John Rocco, Graduate Program Coordinator, at jrocco@sunymaritime.edu.

How does it work?

  • Three 3-credit graduate courses and the one-credit orientation course may be substituted for senior undergraduate requirements.

  • If all senior requirements are completed, students may take graduate classes on a stand-alone basis.

  • When a student has completed the first four courses with at least a 3.0 GPA, earned credits will count toward both degrees.

  • Successful fast track students will be accepted to the graduate program with no other requirements after earning their bachelor's degrees.

What is the cost?

  • Undergraduate tuition will be charged for the three 3-credit graduate courses and the 1-credit orientation course only.

  • Graduate courses beyond those 10 credits will be charged full graduate tuition.
