Dr. Romain began her business career as a commercial lender. For nine years she worked with a wide variety of corporate clients, ranging from to large multinational corporations to small regional firms. After taking time off to raise a family, she completed an M.B.A. at Fordham University with the intention of reentering the corporate workforce. However, after she tried teaching at Westchester Community College, she fell in love with it, finding not just a job but my second career. A year later she landed a second job at the Maritime College. Soon after, Alison was offered a full-time teaching position, instructing courses on Financial and Managerial Accounting as well as Financial Management. Since then, my involvement and responsibilities with Maritime have grown exponentially, particularly in regard to experiential learning. Dr. Romain is the coordinator for the International Trade & Transportation Internship and the Summer Study Abroad programs.
Dr. Romain currently serves as Chair of the Global Business & Transportation Department, as Assistant Presiding Officer of the Faculty, as the Faculty Liaison for the women's volleyball team, and as the Faculty Athletics Representative.
