Since 2000, the Traditional student experience at Maritime College has combined academic rigor with vibrant campus life. Students explore clubs, sports, and social activities while enjoying the stunning waterfront campus. Once you've chosen your path, you can Select Your Destination by pursuing one of many dynamic fields, such as marine transportation, engineering, naval architecture, international transportation and trade, environmental science, data science & machine learning, or facilities management. Maritime College equips you with the tools to make informed career decisions, ensuring you're prepared to thrive in an ever-changing global landscape.
With more than a dozen undergraduate majors—including five ABET-accredited engineering programs, two master's degree options, and a renowned U.S. Coast Guard license program—Maritime College arms you with the skills to navigate, power, and operate the world’s maritime industry. Beyond the classroom, Maritime fosters hands-on learning and leadership development with over 50 student clubs and organizations, 13 NCAA Division III teams, independent collegiate sports, and various programs, including the only Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program in New York City. Under the leadership of President Rear Admiral John Okon ’91, who returned after serving over three decades in the U.S. Navy, Maritime College is charting a bold course toward the future. For President Okon, returning to lead the institution was about giving back and leading the institution that allowed him to do something bigger than he could ever imagine.
