Maritime College is committed to fostering an environment of learning and student success. The SEA Center provides the College community with an integrated student support system. The SEA Center staff work to maintain, develop, and create programs and initiatives across our campus that are inclusive of diversity, disability, and equity.

Drawn from a wide variety of professional and academic backgrounds, staff are focused on ensuring that Maritime College students have the support and access to resources necessary to meet challenges and identify and develop their capabilities on their journey towards success.

  • Oversees academic support services such as tutoring and academic coaching via our Learning and Writing Centers
  • Provides accommodations and support services for students with disabilities
  • Coordinates the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and International Education program, assisting College efforts towards fostering diversity on campus
  • Serves as the primary support and guidance location for international students (F1, J1) as well as for domestic students looking to study abroad
  • Supports students, faculty and staff with academic advising
  • Liaises with Admissions and the Registrar in welcoming transfer students
  • Manages campus-wide training and use of COMPASS (“Collaborative Online Mentoring Portal Advancing Student Success”) a web-based advising and early alert system that allows for coordinated support of students, and coordinates early alert efforts in response.
  • Organizes campus-wide outreach to at-risk students and efforts to create paths towards academic recovery
  • Collaborates on campus-wide efforts and working groups in support of student success
