Accepted Students Day is designed to give you a firsthand look at life at SUNY Maritime College. From academics to student life, you'll experience what it means to be part of a close-knit, career-focused community.
Throughout the day, you'll have the opportunity to explore campus, meet faculty and staff, and connect with current students. Whether you're interested in academics, regiment life, or getting involved on campus, you'll get a clear picture of what your experience at Maritime could look like and how you'll thrive here.
What can I expect during Accepted Students Day?
Check in for Accepted Students Day begins at 8:30 a.m. with a full day of programming designed to help you learn, explore, and connect. The day will include a Welcome from the President, academic overviews, and tours, along with ongoing activities that allow you to engage with faculty, staff, and current students.
You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, attend breakout sessions based on your interests, and enjoy food and activities across campus. It's both informative and welcoming, giving accepted students a well-rounded experience of Maritime and helping you see what life here is really like.
Who Can Attend
Accepted Students Day is open to all accepted students and their families. Whether you've already decided on Maritime or are still exploring your options, this event is designed to support your decision-making process.
For part of the day, students and families will participate in separate sessions tailored to their interests, including academic overviews, financial aid information, and student life programming. Family members are encouraged to attend to learn more about the college, resources, and opportunities available.
Registered attendees can also sign up for limited Ship Tours (after registering for Accepted Students Day). Ship Tours will take place at the end of Accepted Student Day. Priority is given to students and families traveling from farther than 60 miles (registration for Ship Tours is required prior to attending).
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes, as you'll be walking around campus throughout the day. Check the weather ahead of time and dress accordingly. As the Peninsula of Opportunity, SUNY Maritime can be windier than expected so we strongly suggest dressing in layers and bringing a jacket.
What do I need to bring?
Check your email prior to arrival! Registered students will receive a QR code that will assist with express check-in. You are encouraged to bring anything you may need for the day, such as a water bottle or notebook, as well as your questions for faculty, staff, or current students.
Most importantly, come ready to engage, explore, and make the most of your visit.
What will I learn?
Students will learn the next steps to complete their enrollment at SUNY Maritime College, including deposit information, financial aid, and key deadlines to help prepare for the upcoming semester.
You'll also explore your academic program and the hands-on experiences that define a Maritime education. Faculty and staff will walk you through what to expect inside and outside the classroom, while sharing insights into student life, the Regiment of Cadets, licensing opportunities, and career pathways after graduation—helping you understand the full value of a Maritime education.
Will I get to spend time with my future classmates?

Through group sessions, tours, and informal interactions, you'll get a sense of the community and the people you may be spending the next four years with.
What if I can't make it to Accepted Students Day?
If you're unable to attend, we still encourage you to visit our campus at another time. You can schedule a campus tour or connect with our Admissions team for additional resources and information.

Ready to Commit?
If you're ready to take the next step, Freshman and Transfer students can submit their Enrollment Deposit to secure their place in the incoming class. Graduate students need to submit their Statement of Intention to secure their place in the incoming class.
