Admissions Requirements

    • The essay should be no more than 2 pages and should reflect your interest in the program you are applying for

  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended, including at least one from an accredited institution that granted a bachelor's degree

  • Resume

Decisions are based on academic performance, communication skills, professional accomplishments, and other relevant skills and abilities. Successful applicants generally have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0.

Students are required to maintain a 3.0 GPA to stay in the program.

 

Additional Requirements for International Students

International applicants should submit their applications as far in advance as possible to allow time to obtain visas. SUNY Maritime cannot guarantee visas will be granted.

  • Minimum scores of 79 on the TOEFL or 6.5 on the IELTS or at least two semesters of coursework (minimum 12 credit hours) with a GPA of at least 3.0 at a regionally accredited institution, or a foreign institution where English is the official language of instruction.

  • An official course-by-course evaluation report of all transcripts from foreign institutions by WES or another NACES-accredited credential evaluater.

Sending your supplemental materials

The preferred method to receive your supplemental materials is via email to gradadmissions@sunymaritime.edu. Each document must include your full name and birth date.

Official transcripts must come directly from the college or university you attended.
