Dr. Edmonds is Professor Emeritus and currently teaches as Adjunct in the Global Business & Transportation Department. He began my tenure at Maritime as an Adjunct Lecturer and was promoted to the fulltime faculty in 2006 as a lecturer. In addition to teaching over 25 years he held management positions in sales and marketing retiring as Senior Vice President of sales & marketing from Main Fine USA in 2005. And returned to his first love, teaching.

In addition to his extensive industry experience, he has been involved in the educational fields as a Museum Director of Interpretation and Education, and as a college faculty member teaching both history and business subjects. From the community college level to small liberal arts colleges to large universities.

 

Dr. Edmonds research interests have ranged from The Free trade Antea of the Americas, the EU and Wal-Mart to developing and writing case studies as a member of the Society for Case Research.

He has served my community as an Assistant Scout Master for 190 years and as a Vice President for our local Babe Ruth Baseball league for over 19 years. Other outside interests and hobbies include touring living history museums such as Colonial Williamsburg (he has been going the for 40 years) and engaging with and participating with the Brigade of the American Revolution and Civil War reenactments performed by the Col. Crowther Foundation 110th Pennsylvania.

Experience

Dr. Edmond is a long-standing member of the Connecticut Maritime Association and regularly attend monthly meeting and the annual conference.

Robert held a wide range of management positions in sales and marketing for over 25 years ranging from that of an Area Manager, to Regional sales Manager, National Sales Manager, Assistant Director of Sales to Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

His teaching areas reflect his areas of expertise and have taught courses related to Marketing, International Business, Cross-cultural Management, Management, International Marketing, Policies & Procedures.

He developed and coordinated the ITT Study Abroad Program for our ITT undergraduate majors, which affords our students an opportunity to interface with international transportation and maritime businesses, governmental maritime officials and students from around the globe.
