General Education Requirements
Before students can delve into their major field, they will need to fulfill the college's general education requirements. These courses are designed to give students a broad academic base and ensure that students have the basic knowledge required to be successful in upper-division courses.
SUNY General Education Requirement (SUNY-GER) requires recipients of baccalaureate degrees to have demonstrated knowledge and skills in seven of ten areas (American History, Arts, Basic Communication, Foreign Language, Humanities, Math, Natural Sciences, Other World Civilizations, Social Sciences, and Western Civilization) and competency in two areas (Information Management and Critical Thinking).
