LT Joe Bersson, USN

LT Joe Bersson has been stationed at SUNY Maritime since January 2024. After commissioning in 2019 as a Submarine Officer, he proceeded through the nuclear training pipeline in Charleston, SC and Groton, CT. He was then stationed on the USS Hawaii, a nuclear-powered fast attack submarine out of Pearl Harbor, HI. After completing his tour with roles such as Navigation and Operations Department Head, Security Manager, and Main Propulsion Division Officer, LT Bersson detached from the USS Hawaii and began his tour as a Staff Officer at New York City NROTC.
