Maritime College Commemorates 9/11 with Donation of World Trade Center Steel from FDNY
Date
On September 11, 2001, the nation witnessed extraordinary acts of courage, service, and sacrifice.
On Tuesday, October 6th, Maritime College was honored to receive a piece of World Trade Center steel from the FDNY. This tangible piece of history will be permanently incorporated into the 9/11 Boatlift Monument on our campus.
The steel will serve as a lasting reminder of the maritime community's extraordinary response that day—and the thousands of mariners, who answered the call, rescuing more than 500,000 people as the largest boatlift in history.
Help us preserve this story and honor those who answered the call.
