Rushawn Henry

Biography

Rushawn Henry is a 1/C Deckie in the Regiment of Cadets, born and raised in New York City. Holding an Associate in Marine Technology from his previous college, he pursued higher education in the Marine Transportation program at Maritime College. Starting in the humble neighborhoods of Jamaica, Queens, Mr.Henry always knew the water was his calling. His uncle “Captain John Decruz” recommended he go to the New York Harbor school to begin his career on the water, which is where Mr.Henry began to flourish. Starting off as a diver and graduating high school as a professional diver, Rushawn Henry thought diving was his calling but soon wanted more out of the industry, hence his introduction to SUNY Maritime. His ambitions didn't stop there, yearning to increase his leadership ability, Rushawn Henry applied himself in the Regimental Cadet Leadership with the goal of leading the future of maritime all while building his leadership skills. Which led him to become the Regimental Commander for his first-class year. His goal is to make history with the regiment that lived the longest, he wishes to make his family proud and lift his peers up all while he gets the job done.
