Confidential Resources for Instances of Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct

Community members may want to talk about their experiences involving sexual and related misconduct in a supportive, confidential space that allows them to discuss and process their feelings. If you prefer to report an incident confidentially, there are several on-campus and off-campus resources to assist you.

Maritime provides Confidential Resources, who are trained administrators and staff members available to those community members who do not wish to report their experience.

In addition, community members can reach out to Confidential Off-Campus Resources available in many cases, 24/7, 365 days per year. Except in limited circumstances of a life safety threat, communications with the Confidential Resources listed below will not be shared with the University Police, the Title IX Coordinator, the Deans of Students, or any other member of the University community. Referrals may be given to these offices for additional action at the choice of the person reporting.

SUNY Maritime students and employees have the right to make a report to University Police, local (NYPD) law enforcement, and/or the NY State Police or choose not to report; to report the incident to your college; to be protected by the college from retaliation for reporting an incident; and to receive assistance and resources from your college.
