Rpellicciaro

Professor Pellicciaro has received his BA from Hunter College (CUNY) and his Ph. D. in financial economics from Fordham University. He is a Professor of Economics and Finance at SUNY Maritime College where he has taught for 42 years introductory and intermediate micro and macroeconomics courses, strategic business management as well as graduate courses in business statistics, corporate finance and ship finance.  He considers himself primarily a teacher and enjoys interrelating with students. 

Professor Pellicciaro’s academic research interest has been in the area of the application of economic and financial tools in ship management, capital markets and portfolio theory. These interests have directed him to be portfolio manager of private portfolios as well as a consultant to commercial portfolio managers. 

In his nonacademic life, he enjoys traveling, languages and ballroom dancing.

Research

Current interest is in researching practical application of financial and economic of decision making concepts in shipping. Text book (“Selected Topics in Ship Finance” ) finally completed; searching for publisher.
