At Maritime, McMillan teaches courses about Ernest Hemingway, introductory English and a course in the words and images of war. He previously taught at the School of Visual Arts and worked for the New York State Council on the Humanities Program at Veterans Hospitals and the Chautauqua Writers’ Workshop.
